I am from

How I Describe Myself
By: Robert Rousseau

I am from under the covers
from syrup and pancakes

I am from the bright sun shining through the windows

I am from the mud on the driveway

I am from hot chocolate and cheesy movies
from macy and major, my childhood dogs

I am from tracking mud through the house and spilling milk
and from stubbing toes on the old couch

I’m from goodnight and sleep tight
and don’t let the bed bugs bite!

I am from late night walks with my family

I’m from heaven on Earth
and smores on a cold night

From stories around the camp fire about pirates conquering the sea
and spooky creatures in the dark forests

I’m from hello’s and goodbye’s when family members leave and arrive

I’m from things a hate and things I love
from each of these things shows one way to describe me

Making the Basketball Team

When is this day going to end? I was sitting in my last class, wildcat time, waiting for the bell to ring. There was still 5 minutes left. I tried to read a book but I could not focus. I closed my eyes and waited.

RRRIINGGG! I raced out of the class room and down the hall, through the lunch room, and into the gym. “Move it people!” I shouted and pushed my way through the horde of students. Here it is, the moment of truth, I close my eyes and pray. Looking down the board I searched for my name. Where is my name? Please tell me I made it. YEESSS!!! I was cheering for myself and I was so happy, I knew I was going to make it.

I opened the door to my house and zoomed to my mom to tell her the great news. She hugged me and said ” I never doubted, even for a second.” Looking back at this experience, I realized that you should never doubt yourself if you truly believe you will do something great.

Teamwork

Through the gates
On the turf
In the huddle
Across the opponent
Between the field goals
For the win
Within the red zone
Despite the score
Towards the end zone
Onto victory

Rock the Countries! Central America

A good way to learn the central american countries! Jam out with your friends or study with them! Listen to it before a test and remember them. It is very catchy and you might end up singing for the rest of the week.

“I am the one who”…

… tumbles out of bed each morning at the break of dawn…

… waddles from class to class every weekday…

… observes all buildings and wonders about their structure…

… jabbers none stop to my friends clueless of what I’m saying…

… sneaks the occasional sweet treat to my room to devour…

… determined to make a great play in a football game…

… argues to my mom about the most ridiculous things…

… assists anybody looking for help with homework or schoolwork…

… is very picky about the books I want to read…

… cheers on the UT football team every game they play…
